Drywall Taping & Finishing Contractors in Toronto & the GTA
Level 4 and Level 5 finishing that disappears under paint — even under bright, raking natural light or a high-gloss specification.
Finishing Technique Is What Makes Seams Disappear
Finishing is where drywall work either disappears under paint or telegraphs every seam and fastener. The difference comes down to technique: correct tape embedding, progressively feathered coats, and sanding under work lights that mimic the room's actual lighting.
We finish to whatever level the project calls for — Level 4 for the large majority of residential and commercial walls, and full Level 5 skim coating wherever high-gloss paint, dramatic lighting, or an architecturally flawless surface is specified.
Texture matching is available for renovation projects patching into existing orange peel, knockdown, or other textured surfaces, always test-matched before the full repair proceeds.

How we deliver drywall taping & finishing projects
Tape & First Coat
Joints are taped with paper or mesh tape embedded without air bubbles, then covered with the first coat of compound.
Progressive Feathering
A minimum of three coats are applied, each feathered wider than the last, to blend seams into the surrounding surface.
Sanding Under Work Lights
Every coat is sanded smooth and inspected under raking work lights before the next coat or primer is applied.
Final Inspection
We walk the finished surface with you to confirm the specified finish level has been met before paint begins.
Who we work with
Residential Drywall Taping & Finishing
Most residential rooms are finished to Level 4 — the right balance of cost and quality for standard paint finishes. We recommend Level 5 selectively, in rooms where lighting or paint sheen would otherwise show every imperfection.

Commercial finishing needs to hold up under fluorescent and LED lighting across large open spans, and often needs to happen fast, in phases, around occupied tenants — both are standard for our finishing crews.

Drywall Taping & Finishing FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners, general contractors and property managers across the GTA.
What are drywall finish levels?
Drywall finishing is rated on a scale of Level 0 to Level 5. Level 0 is unfinished board; Level 1–2 suit areas that will be covered or hidden; Level 3 suits areas with heavier texture or wallcoverings; Level 4 is the standard for most painted residential and commercial walls; Level 5 is a full skim coat used where high-gloss paint, dramatic lighting, or a flawless architectural finish is specified.
Do I need a Level 5 finish in every room?
No — Level 5 adds cost and is typically reserved for rooms with bright, raking natural light, high-gloss or dark paint colours, or feature walls where any imperfection would be highly visible. Level 4 is the appropriate, cost-effective standard for the majority of residential and commercial spaces.
How do you prevent visible seams and nail pops?
Proper technique — correct fastener spacing, paper or mesh tape set without air bubbles, at least three coats of compound feathered progressively wider, and sanding under raking light — is what prevents seams and fastener pops from telegraphing through paint. This is where finishing crews' experience matters most.
Can you match texture on an existing wall or ceiling?
Yes. We can match orange peel, knockdown, and other common texture profiles when patching into an existing finished surface, and we always test-match on a discreet section before committing to the full repair.
Do you offer skim coating for renovation projects?
Yes. Skim coating (Level 5 finish) is available as a stand-alone service for renovation projects where existing walls need a flawless, paint-ready surface, not just new-build drywall.
